FLEXPIPE HT – ADVANTAGES
SUPERIOR HIGH TEMPERATURE PERFORMANCE
- Flexpipe HT delivers the same corrosion resistance and installation benefits as the current Flexpipe product suite, plus is capable of handling continuous service temperatures of up to 180°F (82°C)
COMPOSITION
- The polymer jacket and liner are made from the highest performing grade of HDPE-RT, capable of withstanding high temperatures and harsh chemical environments.
EASE OF INSTALLATION
- Flexpipe HT is the most flexible, high-pressure composite linepipe and can be installed quickly and easily.
RELIABILITY OF FITTINGS
- Industry-leading fitting reliability due to regulation of energization pressure.
BENEFITS OF USING FLEXPIPE HT
- Eliminate the need for cooling systems,
- Eliminate corrosion,
- Decrease installation time and cost,
- Increase onsite safety with smaller crews and logistics,
- Reduce the amount of environmental disruption.
Since the completion of this initial project, the client has planned to use Flexpipe HT for other gathering projects requiring a high-temperature, corrosion-resistant composite pipeline solution.
A major oil and gas operator in the Rocky Mountains chose Flexpipe’s new high temperature, corrosion-resistant pipeline system for their oil and gas gathering system in eastern Utah.
The operator has used Flexpipe’s standard temperature pipeline product in a number of projects because of the ease of installation, its proven track record, and total installed cost savings. As the company moves production to deeper levels, 160°F (71°C) temperatures at the well head have become more common.
Prior to the availability of Flexpipe HT, the operator used cooling systems to ensure that production would be within the acceptable temperature limits for the standard composite linepipe. The cost of cooling systems ranged from $5,000 to $10,000 per well and were susceptible to freezing issues during winter months.
Flexpipe HT not only reduced the client’s captial costs, the installation team was able to deploy the spooled pipeline and able to install the fittings in less than 4 hours despite the rainy, spring-like conditions in the western Rockies.
