Dane’s focus will be to ensure Flexpipe Systems’ success in executing the business objectives and growth initiatives. Dane has worked in senior roles with several energy services companies and most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Tetra Technologies.  Dane’s financial background and proven leadership qualities will help guide Flexpipe Systems into the next phase of its growth as the company continues to expand its footprint in North America and focuses on the International marketplace.

FlexCord Linepipe – FlexCord Linepipe combines the benefits of a spooled, corrosion-less system with the strength and cyclic durability of steel and is available in 3” and 4” ID sizes with a 600 ANSI pressure rating.  Helically wound, galvanized steel cords ensure the high level of fatigue resistance required for severe cyclic conditions. Like all Flexpipe Systems products, FlexCord Linepipe helps clients decrease pipeline project costs, reduce their environmental footprint and eliminate costly corrosion inhibitor programs. FlexPipe Linepipe has been accepted as an ASTM International Standard. The specification was written and submitted by Flexpipe Systems' engineering team; it was reviewed by an ASTM committee of experts who provided feedback and then incorporated the specification into the committee's standards.  The standard is issued under the fixed designation of F2686-10 - "Standard Specification for Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe".

ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world, and publishes technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.  ASTM International has no role in requiring or enforcing compliance with its standards however, many ASTM standards are adopted (through the incorporation of, or by reference to the standard) by corporations and government regulating bodies.

Acceptance of FlexPipe Linepipe into ASTM's standards is a significant milestone for Flexpipe Systems.  The standard is one of the necessary requirements for DOT approval in the United States and is also recognized as a mandatory standard by many International corporations.  The standard will help drive Flexpipe Systems towards its goal of DOT acceptance in the United States and will help the company garner International industry approval .

The entire ASTM submission and approval process was a lengthy one requiring 4 years of hard work and dedication.  A big thanks to Blaine Weller, Jeff Conley and Assaad Sakr for your efforts and perseverance!  A special mention to Dr. Gene Palermo of Palermo Plastics Pipe Consulting as well; Gene is an internationally recognized expert in the area of plastic pipe and was intergral to the success of this initiative.

Flexpipe Systems and Canusa-CPS Join Together Providing Composite Pipeline Solutions to the South American Market. Flexpipe Systems, a division of ShawCor Ltd., is pleased to announce the nomination of CANUSA-CPS as the Exclusive Master Distributor for Flexpipe Pipeline products in South America.

CANUSA-CPS, a manufacturer of anti-corrosion field joining coating systems for oil and gas, pre-insulated, water and related industrial markets, has been selling products into the South American market place for over 15 years.  The company has a well established network of local distributors and sales engineering professionals.  Flexpipe Pipeline Products are an excellent  additional to CANUSA-CPS’s existing suite of products and services.  Flexpipe Systems with the help of CANUSA-CPS and its network of local distributors is committed to establishing long-term relationships with South American energy producers.   Under the agreement, CANUSA-CPS will be establishing Business Service Centers which will carry an inventory of Flexpipe linepipe and installation equipment. These Business Service Centers will be strategically located to support the South American market. The first Business Service Center is scheduled to be operational in the second quarter of 2010 and will be in the Free Trade Zone in Uruguay.

Local CANUSA-CPS representatives will provide the technical and practical expertise helping South American clients design and implement their pipeline projects using Flexpipe Systems’ composite pipeline technology.

Flexpipe’s open house at the Colorado Solution Center – November 6th! Flexpipe Systems’ Colorado-based Solution Center recently moved to a new location.  On Friday, November 6th Flexpipe Systems will host an OPEN HOUSE between 2pm and 6pm. Flexpipe Systems receives ISO Recertification. In its continued effort to implement appropriate business tools to further the company’s success, Flexpipe Systems was involved in an external ISO audit to recertify the company’s ISO status. The audit was completed in June 2009; Flexpipe Systems received its ISO 9001:2008 status in July. The auditor made a special note that he is continually impressed about Flexpipe’s level of commitment to its quality management system and its incorporation into every aspect of the business.

The move will allow Dean to devote his full attention to Flexpipe’s aggressive growth plans south of the border; as VP of Sales and Operations (Flexpipe US), Dean will lead Sales, Operations, Market Penetration & Corporate Development activities in the United States.  Dean will be fully transitioned into his new role and location by mid-summer.

Flexpipe Systems is committed to providing local pipeline solutions to its clients and has new established Solution Centers in Midland, Texas and in Grand Prairie, Alberta.  In May, Flexpipe will host Grand Opening celebrations in both of these locations.  Please join us for the afternoon BBQs, tours of our new facilities and Flexpipe equipment demonstrations.

Flexpipe MAKES™ INTERNATIONAL SOLUTIONS. The installation of Flexpipe Systems' first project in Central America began in March 2009. The major Central American energy producer chose Flexpipe as a solution to their soaring operation costs and transportation challenges , effectively tying-in multiple wells to a central gathering system.

Two members of Flexpipe's Field Operations team spent a week with the company's field personnel in order to properly train the onsite team and share with them their expertise in composite pipeline technology. This field team is now certified to install Flexpipe's pipe and fitting and has been educated about Flexpipe's best practice and safety procedures. Flexpipe Systems is confident that this is the first of many successful international pipeline projects.

Flexpipe's Colorado Solution Center has moved! Flexpipe Systems Colorado-based Solution Center has moved to a new location. Flexpipe Systems is committed to providing fast and easy service to local operators and pipeline contractors and has moved to a larger facility in the Grand Junction area. The Solution Center is stocked with a complete inventory of linepipe, fittings and rental equipment as well as local personnel to oversee training and pipe installation.
