Client Testimonials

One of the top 10 independent natural gas producers in North America has been using Flexpipe 600 ANSI and 300 ANSI product lines in their Altamont, Utah field since 2006.  The Construction Supervisor, notes that Flexpipe customer service, handling and servicing of rental equipment, inventory availability and quick turnaround are very favorable to the company.  “The pipe is easy to work with and installs very quickly”.

Near Buffalo, South Dakota, a smaller energy group installed approximately 19 miles (30.4 kms) of 4” FP601.  The installation was completed in early 2008 in a gas service application.  The General Partner of the company quotes “Everything regarding Flexpipe is going exactly as you told me it would. We put it in the ground and we have forgotten about it.”

A US based E&P Comapny installed 4” 601 Flexpipe near Thurber, Texas.  The Production Engineer was asked to verbalize a statement about the Flexpipe experience.  The response was:  “Impressive”.   When asked if the company would purchase Flexpipe again for another future project, the response was:  “Definitely!”

An Alberta based energy producer was concerned with the tight economics surrounding the installation of a new segment of their pipeline.  The company could not afford to have their line down for too long limiting the time-frame of the project.   Brian Impey of Canline Pipeline Solutions states, “The company purged their line on a Sunday and we started to work on Monday morning.  We installed almost 18 kilometers of 4” FP 601 Flexpipe by the following Saturday.  The pipeline was tested and brought online on the 8th day saving our client thousands of dollars in down-time costs”.

A US-based end user tried for 2 weeks to get a fiberglass line to hold pressure without success. After much frustration, the engineer decided to replace the line with Flexpipe linepipe. The engineer’s commented to the Flexpipe Account Manager, “Thanks for getting me out of a bind. After 2 weeks of trying to get this line to hold, Flexpipe comes in and in 3 hours replaces the line successfully. I will be buying more Flexpipe now that I’ve seen how easy and quick it is”.

Stealth Ventures, a Calgary based junior oil and gas company, focuses on unconventional gas reserves in Alberta and Saskatchewan which can be challenging to produce with conventional drilling and completion technologies. Stealth completed the first part of a large project in the Lloydminister area using Flexpipe and saw substantial cost savings (on both product and installation costs). An engineer working for a Vancouver based EPC say prices for steel linepipe increase 65% from January 2008 to June 2008. After deciding that Flexpipe was a better economic solution, he commented, “Not only is Flexpipe an easy product to work with, but now oil companies will be annoyed by both the high price and the minimal availability of steel. This will work well for Flexpipe”. The engineer completed the second phase of his project using 4” Flexpipe linepipe.

Since 2003, a large player in the Canadian Oil and Gas sector has installed over 90 km of 2”, 3”, and 4” Flexpipe lines. The engineer responsible for the large, on-going project, commented, “It makes more sense to use Flexpipe as opposed to poly when future tie-ins are a possibility. Hydrocarbons present in the service fluid will degrade a poly pipeline making it almost impossible to reuse the pipe when tying-in to an existing line. This will ultimately lead to leaks and failures”. Because of Flexpipe’s patented mechanical fittings and transitions, concerns regarding the viability of future tie-ins are eliminated and customers do not have to de-rate their pipelines.

A local contractor offered in discussion that he would much rather install Flexpipe over competing composite pipe. He said the joining system is easier to work with and the design without resins and being lighter in weight are the support to his preference.

An Inside Sales Manager with a local steel distributor with 30 years of industry experience and 19 years in his current position, was asked what his perception is of Flexpipe line pipe. He was quoted as saying, “I totally see why the Industry would want to use Flexpipe. Why wouldn’t they, there is no downside!” Even the competition sees the value in a non-metallic, high pressure, spoolable product.
